1. Who we are

Seedha Kanoon is a business-law template and legal-education platform. This policy explains what information our own website collects when you visit it, use our free tools, or purchase a template.

2. What we actually collect, honestly

We would rather under-claim than over-claim here. As of this policy's last update:

• The Legal Health Score and the "Find your template" quiz run entirely in your browser. Your answers are not sent to us, stored by us, or seen by us in any form — they exist only on your device while you're using the tool, and disappear when you close or refresh the page.
• Standard hosting logs are generated automatically by our hosting provider (technical data like IP address, browser type, and pages visited) — this is infrastructure-level logging common to virtually every website, not something we actively collect or analyse ourselves.
• If you contact us (email or contact form), we receive whatever you send us — your name, email address, and message content — solely to respond to you.
• If you purchase a template, payment is processed by Razorpay. We do not receive or store your full card details — Razorpay handles this directly under RBI data localisation requirements.
• If you subscribe to legal update notifications, we collect your email address and the specific template you subscribed for — used only to send you relevant law-change alerts.
• If you use the "Draft My Contract" service, we collect the details you provide in the drafting form — which may include party names, company details, business description, equity or salary information, and your WhatsApp number. This information is used solely to draft your specific contract and deliver it to you. We use AI tools as part of our drafting process; your details are not used to train AI models and are not shared with third parties for any purpose other than producing your contract. We do not use it for marketing or retain it beyond what is necessary for your specific drafting request. Given the sensitivity of this data (it may include financial and business details), we store it only for as long as needed to complete and deliver your contract, and delete it thereafter. If you are not comfortable sharing personal details for drafting, our standard blank templates give you the same verified clause structure without requiring you to submit any personal information. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at the address below.

3. Why this list is short right now

This website does not currently require account creation, does not track you across other sites, and does not sell or share data with advertisers. If that changes as the site grows — for example, if we add optional accounts to track your purchase history — this policy will be updated first, and the change will be dated and explained here, not made silently.

4. Your rights under the DPDP Act, 2023

Where applicable, you have the right to know what personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request erasure, and file a grievance about how your data is handled. India's DPDP Rules are being implemented in phases through 2027 — we will keep this section current as that rollout progresses.

5. Analytics

We use Netlify Analytics to understand overall traffic to this website — total visits, which pages are viewed, and approximate visitor location. This is server-side analytics: it does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not build an individual profile of you. We see aggregate patterns (for example, "this many people viewed this template page"), not who specifically visited.

6. Third parties who process data on our behalf, specifically

We name these specifically, rather than describing them generically, because we think you're entitled to know exactly who handles your data and where it goes.

• Netlify, Inc. (USA) — hosts this website, processes form submissions, and provides aggregate traffic analytics (the Contract Health Checklist and quiz run entirely in your browser and are never sent to Netlify or us; the Legal Update subscription form and Contact form do submit your name/email to Netlify's systems). Netlify's own privacy policy confirms this data may be processed on servers outside India, without the same guaranteed level of protection as India's DPDP Act. This is currently permitted under the DPDP Act, which allows cross-border data transfers by default unless a country is specifically restricted by the Indian government.
• Razorpay Software Pvt. Ltd. (India) — processes all payments. Unlike the above, this data is subject to a binding RBI directive (Circular RBI/2017-18/153, "Storage of Payment System Data") requiring all payment system data — including your contact details used at checkout and transaction records — to be stored exclusively on servers within India, with no exceptions. We do not receive or store your full card or payment details ourselves.

We do not sell your data to anyone, for any reason.

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top will change, and material changes will be described here directly rather than buried in a version history.
